 Minis at The Madeira 2009 saw the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Mini. To celebrate this a convention was held at nearby Cofton Park for drivers and enthusiasts. Amongst the visitors were 9 mechanics from Holland who chose to stay at The Madeira Hotel during this event. While they were at the venue they amazed other enthusiasts by taking a Mini engine out of the vehicle, stripping it down and rebuilding it in perfect working order within a matter of hours! One of the cars had a trailer attached, which, the owner told us, he had made himself using the back ends of Two Minis! The weekend was a huge success and although the car park resembled a scene from The Italian Job, a great time was had by all and it was a real pleasure meeting these guys.
